More than 100 drug offenders nabbed in 4-day CNB operation

SINGAPORE - A total of 113 suspected drug offenders were arrested in a four-day operation from Monday, the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) said on Friday.

The drugs seized included 53g of heroin, 88g of Ice, 13g of cannabis, 182 Ecstasy tablets, 10 Erimin-5 tablets and 19 LSD (Lysergamide) stamps.

The island-wide operation by CNB, with help from the police, covered several areas including Balestier, Bedok, Bishan, Bukit Panjang, Choa Chu Kang, Jurong, Rivervale, Tampines, Toa Payoh and Woodlands. Investigations on all the suspects are ongoing.

One of the people arrested was a suspected trafficker of several drugs. The 31-year-old male Singaporean was caught at a carpark in River Valley on Monday.

CNB officers found a small amount of 'Ice' and 100 Ecstasy tablets after searching him. At a private apartment unit he rented, CNB officers also arrested a 21-year-old Singaporean woman suspected of drug abuse. A small amount of Ice and cannabis and two Ecstasy tablets were found among her belongings.

During a subsequent search of the unit, officers found about 58g of Ice , 80 Ecstasy tablets, 10 Erimin-5 tablets, 18 LSD stamps and two improvised drug-smoking apparatus.

Investigations into the drug activities of both suspects are ongoing.
