Man arrested for alleged outrage of modesty in Tampines

SINGAPORE - A 27-year-old man was arrested for his suspected involvement in a case of outrage of modesty on Tuesday (June 26), said the police in a statement issued on Wednesday.

The police received a report on Tuesday from a female victim, informing them that she had been molested by an unknown man along Tampines Avenue 2.

Officers from the Bedok Police Division established the identity of the man through ground enquiries and arrested him along Tampines Avenue 2.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the man is believed to be involved in a similar incident reported on May 8, said the police.

The man will be charged in court with outrage of modesty on Thursday. If convicted, he could face imprisonment of up to 2 years, caning, or both.
