Man, 24, arrested for assault case at Compassvale Walk

SINGAPORE - A 24-year-old suspect has been arrested for assault, said police on Wednesday(Aug 24).

He allegedly attacked a 31-year-old man at Block 240, Compassvale Walk, on Tuesday evening.

The suspect was detained at Woodlands Checkpoint by Immigration and Checkpoints Authority officers at around 11.50pm on the same day.

Police said he was arrested for "suspected involvement in a case of voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous means".

If found guilty, he can be jailed seven years or more, and fined, as well as caned.
