A former policeman who was sentenced to death in 2015 for a crime that came to be known as the Kovan double murder has failed in his clemency petition to the President.
In 2013, Iskandar Rahmat, now 40, stabbed to death 67-year-old businessman Tan Boon Sin at his home. He also stabbed Mr Tan's son Chee Heong, 42, who had chanced upon the crime and ended up being dragged under the getaway car.
