SINGAPORE – A man accused of outraging a two-year-old girl’s modesty while she was wearing diapers in a pre-school in November 2023 was handed seven more molestation charges on Dec 11.

It cannot be ascertained if these new charges involved the same girl or other alleged victims, as such information has been redacted from court documents.

Details about where the alleged offences took place have also been redacted.

However, three of the 60-year-old man’s eight charges each involve an alleged victim in a diaper.

The Malaysian man, who is also a Singapore permanent resident, is not named because of a gag order.

The man was

first hauled to court in December 2023

. He is accused of committing the offences between May and November 2023.

In an earlier statement, a spokesperson for the Early Childhood Development Agency (ECDA) said that the man, who was a non-teaching staff member, has been dismissed by the pre-school, adding: “ECDA will not allow the staff to work in the pre-school sector while investigations are ongoing.”

The man’s pre-trial conference will take place on Dec 12.

For each count of molesting a child below 14 years old, an offender can be jailed for up to five years, fined, caned or receive any combination of such punishments.

The man cannot be caned as he is more than 50 years old.
