Court rejects caregiver's bid for child custody
Judge says plaintiff has no standing for rare move; parents oppose bid by woman who has looked after kid for 3 years

A district judge rejected a woman's rare bid to obtain custody of a child whom she had looked after for three years, making clear she had no standing to make the move.
The parents, who were the defendants in the case, had "strenuously opposed" the woman's application. She is the paternal aunt-in-law of one of the defendants.
