A clinic assistant at Wee's Clinic and Surgery has testified for the doctor accused of molestation and rape, saying the alleged victim looked "very calm" when she left the examination room.
Ms Koh Siew Guek, who has been employed by the clinic since 1987, said the alleged victim had earlier consulted general practitioner Wee Teong Boo, 67, who owns the clinic in Bedok North Avenue 2.
Wee had seen her after she complained of frequent urination and an itch in her genital area.
Yesterday, on the 11th day of his trial, Ms Koh Siew Guek and six other clinic assistants who worked on Dec 30, 2015, the night of the alleged incident, testified that the woman did not look distressed after the consultation.
But all of them also admitted they did not see or hear the events that took place in the examination room.
Wee is accused of raping the then 23-year-old student in the examination room.
He denies the charges, saying he was merely giving the woman a pelvic examination.
He is also accused of molesting her on a separate occasion on Nov 25, 2015.
Ms Koh Tian Yen, who has been working as a clinic assistant for the accused for some 30 years, said she does not believe that Wee raped the woman, who cannot be named due to a gag order.
Ms Koh Tian Yen, who was also on duty on the night of the alleged rape, said: "Really nothing happened that day. It was very quiet and we don't believe that this thing (referring to the rape) will happen."
She added that she is testifying to support Wee and does not want to see him go to jail.
Wee's wife and a patient who consulted him immediately after the alleged incident are expected take the stand today.
