SINGAPORE - Four women aged between 22 and 42 were arrested on Thursday (May 31) for working without valid work permits during an enforcement operation against unlicensed massage parlours and public entertainment outlets.

The operation was conducted in Serangoon Road, Lavender Street, Jalan Besar, Coleman Street, Beach Road and Middle Road, the police said in a statement on Friday.

Three unlicensed massage establishments were detected, with one found to be offering sexual services.

Three public entertainment outlets were also found to have contravened licensing conditions.

The police said action will be taken against the operators for flouting the rules and regulations under the Public Entertainment Act and Massage Establishment Act.

"We take a serious view of anyone found breaking the law and these offenders will be dealt with in accordance with the law," the statement added.
