30-year-old man arrested for suspected theft from vehicles

SINGAPORE - A 30-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday (July 3) for suspected involvement in a series of thefts from motor vehicles, police said.

Between July 1 and 3, the man smashed the windshields of several vehicles parked near New Upper Changi Road and Bedok South Avenue 2 and stole items inside.

Officers from Bedok Police Division discovered his identity through ground inquiries. He was then arrested in Bedok South Avenue 3.

If convicted for theft, he may be jailed for up to three years, fined, or both.

Police advised the public to install anti-theft alarm systems and remove valuables before leaving the vehicle.
