SINGAPORE - Three men aged between 22 and 29 years old have been arrested for unlawful entry into Singapore on Thursday (March 10).
The Police Coast Guard (PCG) first spotted three floating objects, believed to be swimmers, at the sea off Gedong, Singapore, at about 9.58pm, and deployed both land and sea resources to intercept the swimmers, the police said in a statement on Friday.
The trio were successfully intercepted at about 10.02pm.
They were arrested for the offence of unlawful entry into Singapore under the Immigration Act (Chapter 133).
"I appreciate the vigilance and commitment of my officers for the successful detection and arrest. PCG will continue to be steadfast and vigilant to prevent, deter and detect crime in Singapore waters," said Commander of the Police Coast Guard, Senior Assistant Commissioner of Police Hsu Sin Yun.
