26-year-old man arrested for stealing undergarments in Bedok

SINGAPORE - A 26-year-old man has been arrested for stealing undergarments in several cases in Bedok, the police said on Friday (Oct 13).

The police were alerted to a case of undergarment theft at Block 135, Bedok Reservoir Road, on Monday.

After investigations and with reference to footage from police cameras, Bedok Police Division officers identified the suspect and arrested him on Thursday along Bedok Reservoir Road.

He is believed to be involved in other similar cases in Bedok Reservoir.

Earlier this week, photos of a man taking bras from drying laundry along a corridor went viral.

A woman who gave her name only as Chen told citizen journalism site Stomp that her bras started going missing one to two months ago.

She installed a camera outside a flat, which captured images of the man allegedly stealing her bra.

Investigations against the man are ongoing.

Anyone convicted of the offence of theft can be jailed up to three years and/or fined.
