SINGAPORE - Two women have been arrested for their alleged involvement in a series of shop theft cases.
In a statement on Thursday (Feb 8), the police said they received a tip-off at about 4.25pm on Wednesday that the suspects were attempting to dispatch stolen property overseas.
Officers arrested the two women, who are both 34, within six hours after the report.
The duo are suspected to be involved in several other shop theft cases.
Police recovered 167 pieces of stolen clothing, worth $8,944.50 in all.
The maximum punishment for an offence of Theft in Dwelling with Common Intention is a jail term of up to seven years and a fine.
