SINGAPORE - A 15-year-old girl in Secondary 3 was among 71 suspected drug offenders arrested in an islandwide anti-drug operation from June 10 to 14.
She was arrested for suspected drug consumption, the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) said in a statement on June 14.
In the operation, officers seized a haul of drugs including about 300 Erimin-5 tablets, 555g of Ice, 406g of heroin, 1g of cannabis and two bottles of liquid suspected to contain GHB (gamma-hydroxybutyrate).
The drugs have an estimated street value of about $115,000, said the CNB.
The islandwide anti-drug operation covered areas including Ang Mo Kio, Bedok, Bukit Batok and Toa Payoh.
Among the suspects arrested were a couple and the man’s sister. The three Singaporeans were arrested after CNB officers raided a flat near Bukit Batok Street 32 on June 12.
Officers found about 41g of Ice in the 41-year-old man’s bedroom, and another 37g of the drug in his 44-year-old sister’s bedroom. The man’s wife is 33 years old.
The CNB also found about 300 Erimin-5 tablets and 423g of Ice in the rubbish chute on the ground floor following a search.
The operation also led to the seizure of a large haul of heroin from a unit near Bedok North Avenue 4.
On June 13, officers raided the unit and found about 400g of heroin and 12g of Ice. They also arrested a 44-year-old Singaporean woman.
Investigations into all arrested suspects are ongoing.
