Court rejects school's bid to seal case file over girl's alleged sexual assault

A court registrar refused a school's bid to seal a case file or hold in-camera proceedings for a negligence lawsuit by parents of a seven-year-old girl allegedly assaulted by a male classmate, ruling that a gag order on the names of the two children and all identifiers, including the school's name, would suffice.
A sealing order, if granted, means the public will be refused permission to inspect or copy the court documents that have been filed.
