Hiker's death shocks ex-village resident

He recalls his childhood days in little-known kampung that was demolished in the 1980s

It has been more than 40 years since Mr Thomas Joseph Mendoza left his village in Upper Bukit Timah Road before it was demolished by the Government in the 1980s.
So the 58-year-old was shocked to learn that auxiliary police officer Melita Dollah had died on Sunday after a concrete slab is understood to have fallen on her among the ruins of his family's neighbourhood.
