The 1st Commando Battalion has been named the Singapore Armed Forces' (SAF) Best Combat Unit this year for the 15th consecutive time.

But its commanding officer, Lieutenant-Colonel Ng Kiang Chuan, said there is no room for complacency as there is a new batch of soldiers every year, which means training starts all over again.

Other key winners in the SAF's annual best unit competition this year are RSS Stalwart for Best Fleet Unit, 149 Squadron for Best Fighter Squadron Unit, and 772nd Battalion, Singapore Infantry Regiment, for the Best NS Infantry Unit.

Personnel from the winning units said that commitment, team spirit, sacrifice and excellence helped them clinch the awards.
