SINGAPORE – Some taxi rides from Marina Bay Cruise Centre Singapore will cost more from Oct 1.

Transport operators ComfortDelGro and Strides Premier said in separate Facebook posts on Sept 24 that they are extending their surcharge hours for trips starting from the taxi point there.

Currently, a $5 surcharge is added to metered fares for trips from the cruise centre from 7am to 10.59am every day, including public holidays.

From Oct 1, this $5 surcharge will apply from 7am to 4.59pm, also on those same days.

At all other times, the surcharge is $3.

ComfortDelGro said the move aims to increase the supply of taxis at underserved areas by incentivising drivers.
