Designing a high-performance air-conditioner doesn’t usually involve space-age technology — unless you are Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI).
Best known for building rocket engines for Japan’s space programme, MHI has drawn on its engineering expertise and knowledge to create its Rocket Series of air-conditioners.
Equipped with its proprietary Jet Flow technology to help deliver barely audible air flow, the new Rocket Series air-conditioner (YYS model) cools rooms with an extended range of 20m. It also harnesses its aerodynamic features to ensure the highest energy efficiency recognised by the National Environment Agency (NEA).
The new model’s 3D Auto technology also helps to control the air flow volume and direction, so that cool air is distributed evenly around the room rather than patchy zones of hot and cold.
Upgraded with convenient capabilities
Other than its core job of keeping your home cool, the new YYS model also comes with helpful features to help you manage your home environment.
If you have elderly parents or young children who are susceptible to dust and allergies, the Rocket Series (YYS model) comes with an Allergen Clear Filter, which inactivates 99.9 per cent of bacteria and viruses, including the Covid-19 virus.

The air-conditioner is also equipped with smart Wi-Fi capability that lets you control your home’s air conditioning settings remotely. This means you can turn on the air-conditioner even before reaching home, ensuring your living space is a cooling sanctuary from the hot, humid temperature outside.
With the highest energy efficiency of five ticks recognised by the NEA Tick Rating, the estimated annual consumption rate is only 3,165kWh for a system-four unit, with an annual energy cost of $855.
Distinctively designed with a sleek blue accent, the indoor units are made with Italian-styled luxury in mind, fitting in seamlessly with your modern furnishings.
Continuing a legacy of durability and reliability
From its shipbuilding roots in 1884, MHI has a 140-year long reputation for making quality goods. Better known as a maker of heavy machinery, MHI is not only a leader in aerospace and defense systems, it also ranks high among air-conditioner brands in Singapore.
According to MHI’s surveys, it has consistently ranked within the top three, and its previous model, the YVS series, was also well-received, topping a local list of air-conditioner recommendations.
The sole distributor for the new YYS model, KM Marketing, has been in business for more than 30 years. Mr Chia Kwang Liang, managing director of KM Marketing, says: “MHI has long been at the forefront of technology, and the new YYS series air-conditioner is a reflection of our continuous pursuit of innovation and sustainability.”
The new Rocket Series air-conditioner (YYS model) is available at all major retailers such as Gain City, Best Denki, Courts and all authorised dealers.
