SINGAPORE - NTUC First Campus' My First Skool will be introducing a new four-hour kindergarten programme in January 2016, to offer more options to families with different childcare needs.

My First Skool is one of the largest childcare operators here, with 113 centres offering full-day infant care and childcare.

The new kindergarten programme will be open to parents of children aged four to six, and they can opt for the morning (8am-12pm) or afternoon (1-5pm) sessions.

It is targeted at families who may have other care arrangements for their child in the other half of the day.

The programme will be offered at two existing pre-schools - at Blk 744 Woodlands Circle and Blk 295C Compassvale Crescent - which will have new extension blocks to cater to the pupils. A total of 200 places will be available. Fees will cost $171.20 a month, before subsidies.

The programme also uses the same curriculum as that offered for children in the same age group in the full-day childcare programmes.

My First Skool general manager Adeline Tan said: "The introduction of this kindergarten programme is an attempt... to make available a wider range of pre-school education options within the same pre-school compound, providing convenience and options to parents with different needs."

Registration is already open and parents of children who will be aged four to six in 2016 can call 6509-7887 or go to www.myfirstskool.com for more information.

Another 10 My First Skool centres will be set up this year, offering an additional 1,200 childcare places.
