The Singapore Armed Forces will have a new Chief of Defence Force taking over on March 23.
Army chief Melvyn Ong Su Kiat, 43, will replace Lieutenant-General Perry Lim Cheng Yeow, 46, who has served as Chief of Defence Force since Aug 18, 2015.
In turn, taking over Major-General Ong's place as army chief will be Brigadier-General Goh Si Hou, 40, commander of the 6th division.
The changes are part of continuing leadership renewal in the SAF, a ministry spokesman said.
As army chief, Maj-Gen Ong oversaw the setting up of the Island Defence Training Institute at Clementi Camp, which trains and develops SAF units to protect important military and civilian installations.
