Car crashes into tree, lamp post near Dhoby Ghaut MRT station; driver unhurt

SINGAPORE - A driver crashed into a tree and lamp post in Orchard Road, near the Dhoby Ghaut MRT station, when he lost control of his car on a rainy Saturday afternoon (March 17).

Photos sent to citizen journalism website Stomp show the white car on the kerb with its front bumper dislodged on impact with the tree.

The door at the driver's seat also appeared damaged.

However, the driver, whom The Straits Times understands is in his 30s, managed to escape unscathed.

The police said they were alerted to accident involving a car in Orchard Road, towards Bras Basah Road, at about 3pm.

No one was injured in the accident and investigations are ongoing.
