SINGAPORE - A ComfortDelGro cabby mistakenly drove his vehicle down the staircase of an Yishun temple on Thursday (March 15).

He had just dropped a passenger off at the temple in Yishun Industrial Street 1 and was driving off when he mistook the staircase area for the exit, ComfortDelGro group corporate communications officer Tammy Tan said on Friday in response to queries.

"By the time he realised his error, it was too late," Ms Tan said, adding that no one was hurt in the incident.

A video of the taxi on the staircase was posted on Facebook on Thursday night and quickly became viral with more than 1,400 shares in a day.

"Our priority is the welfare of our cabby and we will assist him the best we can," Ms Tan said.

She added that the transport company's loss adjustors are looking into the matter, with regards to any possible damage to the temple property.
