SINGAPORE - ComfortDelGro has warned its taxi drivers not to carry items on the rooftop of their taxis after a photo of a taxi carrying a mattress emerged online.
"Our cabbies have been told that they are not to carry items on the rooftop of their taxis, and our cabby has been sternly warned for doing so," said Ms Tammy Tan, group corporate communications officer of ComfortDelGro.
A photo of a Comfort taxi with a mattress strapped to its rooftop was posted on All Singapore Stuff on Thursday (April 4).
Reactions online were mixed. Some thought it was a traffic hazard as the mattress may slip off if not secured properly. Some commented that the mattress was blocking part of the taxi's rear window.
Some felt that the taxi driver may be helping a passenger who needed to transport a mattress.
