SINGAPORE - Those planning to stay out late on Jan 28, the eve of Chinese New Year, will be able to take public transport home, with SMRT extending the operational hours of selected MRT lines and bus routes.

Train services on the North-South and East-West lines from City Hall to Jurong East and Pasir Ris will be extended till 2.09am and 2.14am, respectively, said the transport operator on Jan 22.

The last train towards Marina South Pier and Tuas Link will leave City Hall station at 1.54am and 1.59am, respectively.

Train services will also end later on the Circle Line (CCL) and Thomson-East Coast Line (TEL).

The last train from Dhoby Ghaut to HarbourFront on the CCL will be at 1.28am, while the last train from HarbourFront to Dhoby Ghaut will be at 1.15am.

The last train from Woodlands North to Bayshore on the TEL will end at 1.30am, and at 1.42am in the opposite direction.

There is no extension for the Bukit Panjang LRT and Changi Airport services, SMRT added.

SMRT said four bus services’ evening timings will be brought forward: City Direct Service 665 (1.15pm, 1.30pm), and Express Bus Services 951E and 982E (both 1pm, 1.20pm) instead of 6.15pm and 6.30pm. Service 179A will operate from 10.30am to 3.31pm from the bus stop on Lien Ying Chow Drive in Nanyang Technological University, near Hall 1. The service usually operates from 3.04pm to 8pm.

SBS Transit said on Jan 17 that train services on the Downtown and North East lines, as well as the Sengkang-Punggol LRT system, will be

extended by about two hours and 15 minutes

. Additionally, nineteen of its bus services will also run later at their respective bus interchanges.

Tower Transit on Jan 21 also said it is adjusting the operating hours of some bus routes on the eve of the public holiday.
