A burst pipe sent a torrent of water gushing up a few storeys high near Block 249 in Hougang Avenue 3 early on Monday morning, fooling at least one resident into thinking it was raining at 3.40am.
National water agency PUB said its sensors detected the leak and repair works were completed at 11.15am on the same day.
An alternative supply feed ensured that residents were not affected by the leak.
