SINGAPORE – Brunei Crown Prince Al-Muhtadee Billah is making a five-day official visit to Singapore from Sept 10 to attend the 10th Singapore-Brunei Young Leaders’ Programme.
For the first time since he became prime minister, Mr Lawrence Wong will host Crown Prince Billah for the programme, a key platform for young Singaporean and Bruneian leaders to build bilateral ties and explore new areas of cooperation. As deputy prime minister, Mr Wong had led a delegation to Brunei
During his visit, Crown Prince Billah will be separately hosted by President Tharman Shanmugaratnam and his spouse, Ms Jane Ittogi Shanmugaratnam; PM Wong and Mrs Wong; Senior Minister Lee Hsien Loong and Mrs Lee; Senior Minister and Coordinating Minister for National Security Teo Chee Hean; and other ministers, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Sept 9.
The visiting Brunei delegation includes Minister of Defence II Halbi Yussof, Minister of Development Juanda Rashid, Minister of Transport and Infocommunications Shamhary Mustapha; and senior officials from the Brunei Prime Minister’s Office and ministries for foreign affairs, tourism, and education. marking the 40th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral relations
Besides meeting Singapore leaders, the delegation will visit JTC Summit, an office space in Jurong Lake District, and the Centre of Excellence for Soldier Performance, a place in Loyang that looks at how to develop the combat potential of soldiers. They will also visit Temasek Polytechnic and Sentosa Island.
Crown Prince Billah will be accompanied by his wife, Princess Sarah, and their children – nine-year-old Prince Muhammad Aiman and six-year-old Princess Faathimah Az-Zahraa’.
