SINGAPORE - A boom lift was seen lying on its side outside Tiong Bahru Plaza on Friday (Dec 18).

The boom lift at the work site was undergoing regular servicing work at about 11am when it toppled and fell through the hoardings near Tiong Bahru Road, according to a statement from AsiaMalls, mall manager of Tiong Bahru Plaza.

Tiong Bahru Road was closed to traffic as workers removed tree branches which fell onto the road. Traffic was back to normal at about 3pm.

An ambulance was despatched to the location, but no one was injured, said the Singapore Civil Defence Force.

AsiaMalls said it is working with the authorities in their investigation of the matter.
