Body found along Bukit Timah Expressway near Woodlands on Wednesday morning

SINGAPORE - An unidentified person was found dead along the Bukit Timah Expressway (BKE) near Woodlands on Wednesday morning.

The police said they received a call at about 8.56am requesting for assistance along the BKE towards Woodlands Checkpoint.

The person, who was found lying motionless, was pronounced dead by paramedics.

"Police are investigating the unnatural death," said a police spokesman.

Chinese evening daily Lianhe Wanbao reported that the body belonged to an unidentified man and was found lying in vegetation beside BKE exit 10B, about 50m away from factory buildings in the area.

The man is believed to have been dead for a few days.

It was reported that he had a lot of coins, and $2 and $5 notes on him.

The evening newspaper reported that police dogs were seen combing through the area where the man was found on Wednesday morning.
