Baby born extremely premature at 25 weeks spends first Christmas at home with family

Baby Shelyn Chua Yun Ni was born extreme preterm at 25 weeks, weighing 750g. Her parents, Mr Veroy Chua and Ms Astral Lim stayed by her side as their daughter stayed in the hospital for more than 400 days before they could take her home. The family are excited to spend Christmas at home for the first time as a family.

SINGAPORE - When a doctor told Ms Astral Lim that she had to choose between terminating her pregnancy or keeping the foetus, with a 50 per cent chance of survival, she felt her baby kick from inside her tummy.

She and her husband, Mr Veroy Chua, 36, took it as a sign from God to keep the baby.
