Teacher Annie Chan and auditor Philip Ling were among 35 adult scout leaders to receive Distinguished Service Awards at the Istana yesterday. The annual scout awards were handed out by President Tony Tan Keng Yam, who is also Chief Scout. Mrs Chan, 69, is the Group Scout Leader at Yangzheng Primary School and Mr Ling, 46, was treasurer of The Singapore Scout Association from 2012 until he stepped down from the post this year. Both received silver awards. Another 10 individuals and scout groups were conferred the Singapore Scout Foundation fellowships for their contributions to the movement in Singapore.
