For the last 17 years, Madam Chin Chooi Ling has taken the same lift and walked down the same Housing Board corridor to her flat.

This was the exact route her late daughter, Madam Annie Leong, 30, took in 2001, moments before her life was taken by a 15-year-old boy who slashed her neck and stabbed her in the chest just 30 paces from her doorstep.
