SINGAPORE - Flying may not be the most environmentally friendly way to travel, but airlines are increasingly doing their bit to cut down on the waste they generate.
In the last year, airlines including Singapore Airlines (SIA), Emirates and Finnair have replaced single-use plastic items with greener alternatives such as paper straws, wood-based swizzle sticks, paper packaging for children's toys, and paper bags for in-flight purchases.
