Air Japan to launch daily Singapore-Tokyo flights from Nov 21

SINGAPORE – Business and leisure travellers from Singapore will be able to fly Air Japan to Tokyo and back on all days of the week from November.

The airline announced increased flights on its popular Singapore-Tokyo (Narita) routes starting on Nov 21.

The move comes with the introduction of its third aircraft, which will allow the launch of Wednesday and Thursday flights between Singapore and Tokyo, said Air Japan in a media statement on Sept 4. The airline currently flies to and from Tokyo on Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Ticket sales for the added flights began on Sept 4 on Air Japan’s website.

In addition to offering its usual fares, the airline has “Simple” fares starting at $226 for one-way trips between Singapore and Tokyo. Children’s fares under the same category start at $148, while infants under two who do not require a seat will be charged $51.

Fares include carry-on baggage of up to 7kg, while services such as advance seat selection, checked baggage and in-flight meals can be purchased separately.

The airline’s increase in flights between Singapore and Tokyo comes amid surging demand for travel to Japan. A

in 2024, according to the Japan National Tourism Organisation. This is an increase of 16.9 per cent from 2023, which saw 591,300 visitors – also a record number that year.

Out of the 691,100 travellers in 2024, 136,200 – almost one-fifth of them – flew to Japan in December, an increase by 19.8 pert cent over the same period in the previous year.
