SINGAPORE – African swine fever (ASF), first confirmed to have arrived in Singapore in February, will likely decimate the Republic’s booming wild boar population with its mortality rate of more than 90 per cent. 

But wildlife experts told The Straits Times that such population oscillations are common in nature, and the hardy species is expected to rebound in time.
