SINGAPORE - Always wanted to find out how New Zealand is like? You can do that right here at a new exhibition.

From venison steak to healthy popcorn, visitors to the Plaza Singapura Atrium from now until Sunday (May 29) can sample these mouthwatering treats, complete with a virtual reality (VR) experience that transports shoppers to the country's farms and vineyards using VR headsets.

Other New Zealand produce available include vintage cheeses and ciders.

Sharing some of the country's secrets to being a global leader in food safety, New Zealand Trade Commissioner Tony Robinson said: "The (New Zealand) Ministry for Primary Industries ensures food safety through all stages of the food production process. We make sure producers document food safety risks, and conduct more than one million scientific tests per year as part of our food safety regime."

Organised by supermarket chain Cold Storage and New Zealand Trade & Enterprise, the annual exhibition is in its fifth edition this year.

Mr Winstone Chee, Cold Storage's fresh foods director, said: "It is a good opportunity for us to bring foods that Singaporeans may not have tried or even heard of before."
