81 drug offenders nabbed in 4-day CNB blitz

SINGAPORE - A total of 81 drug offenders were arrested by the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) in a four-day islandwide operation, the agency said in a press release on Friday (Sept 15).

The operation, which took place from Monday until Friday morning, also saw about 69g of Ice, 56g of heroin, 59g of cannabis, 127 Erimin-5 tablets and 10 Ecstasy tablets seized.

Supported by the Singapore Police Force, the operation covered areas including Ang Mo Kio, Bedok, Bukit Batok, Hougang, Marine Parade, Sembawang, Sengkang, Woodlands and Yio Chu Kang.

In one of the cases, two suspected drug traffickers were arrested in the vicinity of Sembawang Drive on Wednesday.

A small amount of heroin and Ice were recovered from the 47-year-old man, and about 50g of heroin from the 49-year-old woman. Both are Singaporeans. A small amount of Ice and a bottle of methadone were also seized from their hideout after a search.

Investigations into the drug activities of all the arrested persons are ongoing.
