SINGAPORE – Seventy-seven suspected drug offenders were arrested by the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) in an islandwide anti-drug operation from Sept 21 to 26.

A total of 351g of heroin, 99g of Ice, 69g of cannabis, 10g of ketamine, one Ecstasy tablet, one bottle of methadone, 527 e-vaporiser pods believed to contain etomidate, and cash amounting to $4,228.70 were seized, CNB said in a press statement on Sept 29.

The drugs are estimated to be worth over $74,000. The heroin, Ice and cannabis seized could feed the addiction of 235 abusers for a week, said CNB.

The areas covered in the operation included Aljunied, Boon Keng and Selegie.

Among the 77 arrested was a 46-year-old Singaporean woman. Officers seized 143g of heroin, 18g of Ice, 65g of cannabis and 10g of ketamine from a residential unit in Champions Way in Woodlands, where the suspected drug trafficker was nabbed on Sept 24.

Another suspected drug trafficker, a 60-year-old Singaporean man, was arrested in a residential unit near New Bridge Road on Sept 21. Officers found 106g of heroin and 26g of Ice in the unit.

Those found guilty of trafficking more than 15g of pure heroin could face the death penalty.

On Sept 25, two Singaporean men were arrested for drug trafficking, with vape-related products seized.

In one of the cases, 524 e-vaporiser pods believed to contain etomidate and $3,500 in cash were among the items seized when CNB officers nabbed a 28-year-old in a residential unit near Hougang Street 51.

A 29-year-old suspect was nabbed on the same day in a Buangkok Crescent home. One e-vaporiser pod, believed to contain etomidate, was retrieved from vape-related products that were seen being thrown out of the bedroom window of the unit before the arrest.
