SINGAPORE - Six Singaporean youths were arrested in a Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) operation on Wednesday evening (July 11).
CNB first arrested an 18-year-old male, a suspected drug trafficker. The bureau said on Thursday that 2,906g of cannabis was recovered from a backpack carried by the suspect.
The residence of the suspect was later raided, and CNB officers recovered 45g of cannabis within the unit.
Other CNB officers raided the residence of another suspected drug trafficker, a 20-year-old male.
He was observed to have met the 18-year-old suspect earlier.
Four other suspected drug abusers, a 19-year-old and three 20-year-olds, were also arrested within the unit. All four suspects are males.
CNB said that the 2,951g of cannabis recovered in the operation is enough to feed the addiction of about 420 abusers for a week.
Investigations into the drug activities of all the suspects are ongoing.
