4 taken to hospital after multi-vehicle accident along BKE

SINGAPORE - Four people were taken to hospital after a multi-vehicle accident on the BKE on June 26.
The police and the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said they were alerted at about 7.50am to the accident, which happened in the direction of PIE, after the Bukit Panjang exit.
The chain collision involved two lorries and a van, the police said.
In a photo of the crash site sent to ST by a reader, four ambulances can be seen queued up on the second lane, ahead of the vehicles involved in the collision.
A 67-year-old male lorry driver and his three male passengers aged between 29 and 45 were conscious when they were taken to Tan Tock Seng Hospital, the authorities said.
The other male lorry driver, 30, is assisting with ongoing police investigations.
The accident on the BKE took place a day after an accident involving two lorries on the Central Expressway resulted in the death of a 34-year-old man.
The driver of the lorry he was in, a 24-year-old man, was arrested for careless driving causing death.
