SINGAPORE – Four Singaporeans suspected of drug trafficking were arrested on March 4 in two separate raids, with drugs worth more than $619,000 seized.

In the first operation in the early evening of March 4, Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) officers raided a room in a hotel near Havelock Road.

A 21-year-old woman and a 50-year-old man were arrested after they were found with about 340g of heroin, 103g of Ecstasy, 27g of Ice and five Erimin-5 tablets, CNB said on March 6.

Cash amounting to $9,180 and 711 ringgit was also found on them.

In their rented vehicle parked at the hotel’s carpark, CNB officers found 2,758g of heroin and 515g of Ice.

In another raid later that day, a 27-year-old woman and a 33-year-old man were arrested in the carpark of a commercial property near Kaki Bukit Road 3.

The man was taken to his hideout, a unit in the same building, where a search yielded 4.99kg of cannabis, 279g of ketamine, 222g of Ice, 115g of Ecstasy and 250 LSD stamps. Several vape devices, cartridges and edibles suspected to contain THC, which is one of the main psychoactive components of cannabis, were also seized.

CNB officers also found 11g of Ice when searching a car driven by the woman.

Investigations are ongoing.

CNB said the drugs seized could feed about 2,630 abusers for a week.

It is an offence to traffic or offer to traffic a controlled drug for oneself or on behalf of another person, whether or not that other person is in Singapore, as is preparing to traffic a controlled drug or offering to do so, the bureau said.

Anyone found guilty of trafficking more than 15g of pure heroin, 250g of Ice or 500g of cannabis may face the mandatory death penalty.
