33-year-old man nabbed for suspected drug trafficking after 2.7kg of cannabis found in flat

SINGAPORE – A 33-year-old man suspected of trafficking drugs was arrested after about 2.7kg of cannabis was found in a flat in Balam Road, near Macpherson.
The Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB), in a statement on June 24, said its officers entered the man’s home on the evening of June 23 and found cannabis in different parts of the flat.
The drugs, estimated to be worth more than $65,000, can feed the addiction of 390 abusers for a week, the statement added.
CNB reiterated that cannabis is a Class A controlled drug, and consumption, possession, trafficking, import or export of cannabis and cannabis products is an offence.
Anyone found guilty of trafficking more than 500g of cannabis can be sentenced to death.
