31-year-old motorcyclist killed in accident involving bicycle along Bukit Batok Road

SINGAPORE - A 31-year-old man was killed in an accident involving a motorcycle and a bicycle along Bukit Batok Road in the direction of Choa Chu Kang on Tuesday night (June 26).

The accident occurred at the junction of Bukit Batok Road and Bukit Batok West Ave 7.

In response to queries, the Singapore Civil Defence Force said it was alerted to the accident at about 11.10pm, and that the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene by SCDF paramedics.

The cyclist, a 41-year-old man, was taken to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital, which was alerted to be on standby to receive him. The police said he was conscious at the time.

Facebook user Natasha Halim posted photos of the accident early Wednesday (June 27), appealing for information on the dead victim's family members. Her post was later updated to indicate that his family had been notified.

Another user, Zack Apui, uploaded a video of a traffic jam purportedly caused by the accident.

Police investigations are ongoing.
