3 taken to hospital after van crashes into traffic light, turns turtle in Woodlands accident

SINGAPORE – Three people were taken to hospital following an accident involving a van, a bicycle and a pedestrian in Woodlands on Oct 28.
The police and Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said they were alerted to the incident involving a van which was believed to have skidded at the junction of Woodlands Avenue 4 and Woodlands Avenue 7 at about 5pm.
SCDF said two people were taken to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital and one to Woodlands Health Campus. The trio, who were conscious, comprised a 60-year-old male van driver, a 49-year-old male pedestrian and a 29-year-old male cyclist.
The van driver is assisting with police investigations.
In dashcam footage uploaded to Facebook group SG Road Vigilante’s page, a van can be seen on the leftmost lane and approaching the junction when it mounts the kerb and hits a traffic light.
The traffic light crashes onto the road, and the van flips and turns turtle, landing several metres away.
In photos of the aftermath, at least three SCDF vehicles and several SCDF personnel can be seen on site, with several passers-by looking on.
Police investigations are ongoing.
