SINGAPORE - Eligible Singaporeans who had previously signed up for the Government's GST Voucher scheme will receive an additional payout of up to $200 each by Nov 5, said the Ministry of Finance (MOF) on Tuesday (Nov 1).
A total of $280 million will be disbursed for this cash special payment.
The one-off payout is on top of the regular GST Voucher given out in August, which saw an estimated 1.3 million Singaporeans receive up to $300 in cash each.
It was announced during the 2016 Budget and is meant to support households amid the current economic conditions.
No action is required from eligible recipients and the criteria is similar to the regular GST Voucher.
Meanwhile, MOF has also issued a reminder for Singaporeans eligible for the GST Voucher Cash/Medisave but have yet to sign up to do so by Dec 31.
They would have already received a letter in June this year informing them of their benefits.
The ministry will also send a second reminder letter in early November.
