SINGAPORE - A fire broke out in the bedroom of a 48th floor unit at the Pinnacle@Duxton in the early hours of Monday (May 21), with a man and a woman taken to hospital for smoke inhalation.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force told The Straits Times that it responded to a fire at Block 1D Cantonment Road at about 4.15am.
"The fire, involving contents of a bedroom, was extinguished by SCDF using two water jets," it said.
A man and a woman in their 60s were taken to the Singapore General Hospital in a conscious state.
ST understands that they suffered from smoke inhalation.
SCDF is investigating the cause of the fire.
Pinnacle@Duxton is an iconic public housing development comprising seven connected 50-storey towers. It was completed in December 2009.
