SINGAPORE – Two ST Engineering employees were taken to the hospital after an accident involving a car and a truck on the morning of Sept 1.

Responding to queries from The Straits Times, the police and the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said that they were alerted to the accident in Upper Changi Road at around 10am on Sept 1.

One person was found trapped in the driver’s seat of a car, SCDF said, adding that the individual was freed using hydraulic rescue equipment.

A 26-year-old male car driver and his 60-year-old male passenger were taken conscious to Changi General Hospital, the authorities said.

The driver is assisting with police investigations, which are ongoing.

Dashcam footage of the incident posted on Singapore Roads Accident.com’s Facebook page shows a white car travelling on the left lane of a two-lane, two-way road.

The white car signals its intention to filter right and changes lanes, before crossing the continuous white line that marks the centre of the two-way road and into oncoming traffic.

It then crashes with an oncoming truck.

The road appeared to be wet when the accident occurred.

In another video taken after the accident, the logo of public technology and engineering firm ST Engineering can be seen on the white car.

In response to ST queries, an ST Engineering spokesperson confirmed that both men are its employees, and that the car belongs to the company.

“They are currently receiving medical care at the hospital and are in stable condition,” added the spokesperson.

“Our focus remains on their well-being and we will continue to provide support to the employees.”
