SINGAPORE – Five people, including two children aged six and nine, were taken to hospital after a chain collision in Tampines Avenue 10 on Sept 4.

In response to queries, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it was alerted to the accident at about 6.30pm that day.

Three people were taken to Changi General Hospital, and two to KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital, SCDF added.

Those taken to hospital were a 60-year-old female driver, a 32-year-old male driver, a 40-year-old male driver and two of his passengers, aged six and nine. All were conscious.

The 60-year-old driver is helping police with investigations.

In video footage circulated on social media, a white car can be seen driving in the second lane in Tampines Avenue 10, towards Pasir Ris Drive 12. It is later seen in a collision with a red car in the rightmost lane.

There was an uptick in road accidents and casualties in the first half of 2025 from the same period in 2024, according to

Traffic Police data.

There were 78 fatal accidents, up from 70 in the first half of 2024, with the number of deaths rising from 72 to 79. Accidents resulting in injuries rose from 3,437 to 3,740, leading to 4,860 people injured, up from 4,665 during the same period in 2024.
