16 Tampines blocks hit by 40-minute power cut

Residents of Tampines experienced a brief power cut yesterday morning.

Singapore Power (SP) Group said the electricity supply to 16 blocks at Tampines Street 12 was disrupted at 9.42am.

It deployed its officers to the affected areas and power was fully restored to 1,546 customers in the blocks by 10.24am.

The disruption is being investigated, the company said in a statement.

Local shopping mall Century Square was not affected by the outage.

Tampines Secondary School and Pasir Ris Secondary School, which are near the affected area, also said they were not disrupted.
