SINGAPORE - A container truck overturned at the junction of Jurong Port Road and Jalan Buroh on Monday (March 13), hindering traffic throughout the morning.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force said it was alerted to the accident at around 8.05am.

The 27-year-old truck driver was taken to Ng Teng Fong Hospital, it added. The Straits Times understands that his injuries were minor.

An eyewitness, speaking to citizen journalism website Stomp, said he was in the area to get his tyres changed at a nearby workshop when the accident occurred.

The drive had been attempting a U-turn, he added.

A video posted by Facebook user Ziez Sham showed that a crane was deployed to lift the truck upright.

The operation apparently caused a traffic jam in the area for around two hours.

A police spokesman said investigations are ongoing.
