NAYPYITAW - Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong received a red carpet welcome to Myanmar on Tuesday (June 7) afternoon, the first day of his official visit to the country.

PM Lee and Mrs Lee were welcomed by Myanmar President Htin Kyaw and his wife, after which PM Lee inspected a guard of honour at the presidential palace in Naypyitaw.

The national flags of Singapore and Myanmar lined the lawn of the palace, fluttering in the wind as an official band played both countries' national anthem.

PM Lee will also meet with State Counsellor and Foreign Minister Aung San Suu Kyi.
